Carrie Review

Hello, today I am going to review the recent version of Carrie

Carrie Poster

The film stars Chloe Moretz as Carrie White and Julianne Moore as Margaret White . It was directed by Kimberly Peirce.

This film is a remake of the original Carrie, not the film but the book. Its also slightly more up to date, using mobile phones and laptops, throughout the film. They also make it seem a bit darker, more horror like, through the use of the music, as well as the camera shots.

There were some moments in the film where slow motion was used. This was done rather well at the particular scenes, to show more impact in the film, and add another sense of the horror genre. Also with the blood, constantly throughout the film, in almost every scene, from beginning to the end, it makes it definitely seem more like a horror film, reaffirming this point.

The music in this film was very creepy, sometimes loud, but throughout, epic. It made the film come to life, giving it some dimension. All of the effects worked well in the film. The blood looks brilliant, and makes it very creepy as well.

The moral of the story is: There’s no point crying over split pigs blood.

All in all, I say that this film was good, but might not beat the original.

4/5 stars, ****
